Despite the 2023 Election issues currently troubling and upsetting the Plateau State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the youths of the chapter have added another twist by calling on Sen. Jonah David Jang to resign as the Leader of the State chapter.
The Youths under the aegis of PDP Youth Vanguard in a press briefing in Jos, the Plateau State capital today, alleged that, Sen. David Jonah Jang is responsible for the downward trend of the chapter.
They stated that, “Former Senator David Jonah Jang, a respected figure within the party, is responsible for all actions detrimental to the PDP’s progress in Plateau State and Nigeria at large”.
The Youth Group led by its Spokesperson, Comrade Andrew John, who was flanked by some of his members and surrounded with placards, stated that, they are deeply concerned about the recent developments within the party that have raised questions about its unity, reputation, and overall direction.
Adding that, “The PDP Youth Vanguard firmly believes that his alleged manipulation and misguided leadership have led the party astray and negatively impacted its reputation. It is our duty as members and stakeholders to hold our leaders accountable and ensure the party’s best interests are upheld.
“In light of these circumstances, the PDP Youth Vanguard hereby insists on the immediate resignation of former Senator David Jonah Jang leader of the party from his leadership position.
“We believe that this step is crucial for the party to regain its unity and refocus on its core principles.
“With a new leadership, the PDP will have the opportunity to reestablish its reputation, restore the confidence of the Nigerian people, and better serve the nation”.
The PDP Youth Vanguard urged the party’s leadership and all stakeholders to facilitate a transparent and inclusive process for conducting a congress.
Adding that, “This will allow party members to actively participate in decision-making, elect new leaders, and collectively shape the future of the PDP.
“By embracing democracy and giving a voice to all party members, the PDP can begin a process of healing, unity, and regain its standing as a leading political force in Nigeria.
“The PDP Youth Vanguard is committed to working tirelessly towards the betterment of our beloved party. We stand united in our determination to ensure that these issues are addressed promptly for the sake of the PDP, and its members”.
