PLATEAU 2023 GOVERNORSHIP RACE: NGAS NATION, MAY SETTLE FOR ONE CANDIDATE IN EACH POLITICAL PARTY

By: Valentine Adese (JP),

As the 2023 Governorship poll draws nearer, there is a strong indication that, nationalities, religious institutions, professional bodies, among others, may start assessing and preparing to market their own.

The North Central Zone States of Nigeria, especially, Plateau State is not left out in this exercise.

The Ngas Nation in Plateau State, from information reaching the News Desk of REALITY has already kick started the process with the high hope that, the Governorship seat would be zoned to the Central Senatorial Zone and later micro-zoned to, Pankshin, Kanke and Kanam (PKK) Local Government Areas (LGAs) being a Federal Constituency within the zone.

Fillers from the recent meeting of the Ngas Elders (being a think-tanks for the Nation) indicates that, the Nation may resolve and also prefer to pick person(s) from its extraction, as candidate for each political party contesting the forthcoming 2023 governorship seat in Plateau State.

You would recall that, REALITY had reported that, the lobbying process to retain the Governorship seat in the Central Zone has begun.

And also that, the political wave in the state is becoming attractive as it has started pulling away posters defacing the streets and buildings, unveiling the men from the boys, and true Aspirants from Pretenders.

It is of note that, since the published schedule of activities leading to the coming Primary Election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), several Aspirants in the Plateau State chapter of the PDP have bought both the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for different elective positions.

However, the major Form of interest to both party members and the citizens in the state is that concerning the governorship seat in Rayfield.

REALITY has been told that, four (4) Aspirants have indicated interest from the Ngas extraction (Nation) to contest and occupy the exulted seat. Two (2) from Pankshin, and Two (2) from Kanke LGAs, and this can also be traceable through their posters.

HON. DR. GOLU

But, according to a former Councilor, former Chairman of PDP in Kanke LG and presently the State Assistant Treasurer of the PDP, Hon. Tapwa Ngoma, only one Aspirant, Hon. Dr. Timothy Golu has bought the PDP’s Governorship Form and has presented same to the Ngas Nation and leaders of the party at that level.

HON. NGOMA

He made this disclosure during an exclusive interview with REALITY, on 4th April, 2022.

Hon. Ngoma also disclosed that, only Dr. Golu has told party members of his governorship interest, while insisting that, some of the Aspirants are yet to be members of the party, despite their colourful posters in the streets.
