PLATEAU: WORLD CLEAN UP DAY: HOW ROTRACT CLUB OF UNIJOS COLLABORATED WITH GLOBAL WARMING SHIELD FOUNDATION

Rotract Club of University of Jos in collaboration with Global Warming Shield Foundation, Plateau State chapter and others joined hands in commemoration with World Clean Up Day:

The exercise, which took place at Anguwan Rukuba community in Jos North Local Government Area (LGA) of Plateau State, saw youths from different organization coming together to clean up the environment.

While addressing the participants and also briefing the participants on the activities of “Plogging Nigeria”, Theresa Pegoelong, highlights some of the objective of the organization, to include basically, the “Promotion of the culture of responsible waste handling and physical mental exercise to fit people in clean environment”.

While speaking on behalf of Rotract Club in Jos, Onah Nathaniel said, #WorldCleanupDay exercise in Jos, Plateau is brought by the Plogging Nigeria, GreenWithGrin and the Rotaract Club of Jos.

You would recall that, this exercise was carried out last year in more than 20 locations, with over 450 participants, and more than 600 bags of wastes weighing over 2 tones were collected.

In the field, Plogging Nigeria, also enjoined other youths to be part of the clean up exercise.

Highlights of the exercise include, picking dirt from Anguwan Rukuba market and its environment, exercise, dance and refreshments.
