The British Government has expressed its preparedness to partner with the Nasarawa State government in the areas of Agriculture and Education so as to improve the living conditions of its citizenry.
The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Catriona Laing disclosed this in a chart with Media men in Lafia Wednesday.
Mrs. Laing, who is on a two-day working visit to Nasarawa State, pointed out that, “the British government anchored the idea to partner with the state is as a result of the huge potentialities the state possesses which if properly harnessed would go a long way in improving the living conditions of its people”.
She explained that, “due the rich mineral deposits in the State, her government will be willing to partner the state in such a sector which would be of great benefits to her country and the state”.
She praised Governor Abdullahi Sule, for the ongoing construction of Bus Terminus in Karu and Keffi Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the state, which she noted will help greatly in reducing gridlock on the Keffi-Karu Highway.
In his welcoming remarks, Governor Abdullahi Sule, who was full of joy for the visit said his administration is determined to ensure the total transformation of the economy of the state so as to create wealth and job opportunities for the people.
He thanked the UK Government for its decision to interest in the state through partnership with the state especially in the field of Agriculture and Education with a promised that the State would do everything within it’s limit to ensure the success of the partnership.
