MAINTAIN YOUR ESTABLISHED PATRIOTIC ZEAL TO REBUILD NIGERIA, GOV. LALONG, URGES NIPR

The Governor of Plateau State, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong has urged the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and its members, to maintain the established patriotic zeal they are known for in order to help rebuild Nigeria and unite its citizens.

The Governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Prof. Sunni Tyoden, gave this advice today, during the Citizens Summit For National Integration, Peace and Security, organized by NIPR in Jos, the Plateau State capital.

The Governor also, strongly admonished members of NIPR, to use the Summit to create concepts and strategies that would create the needed environment for unity and peace and pass it down to government and communities for ratification and possible implementation.

The President and Chairman of Council of NIPR, Mal. Mukhtar Zubairu, and other eminent people who spoke at the occasion, urged citizens to keep the religion and ethnic factors behind and see Nigeria first, as a way of rebuilding the country.

The high point of the occasion was a dance drama demonstrating the quest for unity and peace in the country.

As at the time of this report, the Summit has entered its Technical Session.
