PLATEAU: BREAKING: JUDGEMENT RESERVED IN CASE BETWEEN 17 LGC CHAIRMEN AND THEIR COUNCILORS AGAINST GOV. MUTFWANG, A-G

By: Amb. Valentine Adese (JP),

Plateau State High Court has reserved for Judgment suit No: PLD/J257/2023, filed by the 17 suspended Local Government Council Chairmen and their Councilors.

The Suit filed since May 2023 has undergone various legal processes and many interest groups have sought to be joined.

The Presiding Judge, Hon. Justice Samchi, after listening to the Preliminary Objection (PO) to the suit, the Originating Summon, the Counter and further Counter to the Originating Summons, has adjourned for judgment to a date to be communicated to the Counsels in the matter.

However, earlier, while hearing the matter on 26/03/2024, the Court rejected for the third time, the application of Hon. Daniel Kunmi and his other 16 TIC Chairmen in the state to be joined in the case.

You would recall that REALITY had reported that The Attorney-General of Plateau State had indicated that he would appeal against the ruling of the Plateau State High Court presided over by Hon. Justice Samchi, which refused his Application to Consolidate the case he has with the Inspector General of Police (IGP), which has been transferred to Plateau State from Abuja, with the ongoing case between the suspended 17 Local Government Council Chairmen and their Councilors in the 17 Local Government Councils of Plateau State.
