NEW CAN LEADERSHIP EMERGES IN NASARAWA STATE

Nasarawa State Chapter of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) today (Tuesday), elected new officials that would pilot its affairs in the next Five (5) years.

Announcing the election results, Chairman Electoral Committee, Mr. Timothy Nasson said, Dr. Sunday Emma, polled 95 votes, to defeat Samson Jugga, who got 36 votes to emerge as the new Chairman of the Association in the state.

The Chairman announced that, based on the CAN’s Constitution, Mr. Jugga, who got the least votes automatically, became the Vice Chairman of the association.

The Chairman also announced other elected officials to include; Alfred Azige Secretary, Femi Momo Assistant Secretary and Samson Osuo a Journalist, bagged the position of Treasurer in that order.

In his acceptance speech on behalf of other officials, the Chairman elect, Dr. Sunday Emma, expressed gratitude to the delegates and indeed the entire Christians for the confidence reposed on them and promised not to disappoint them.

He promised to operate an open door policy where all Christians in the state irrespective of their domination would be carry along.

Dr. Emma said he would work with leaders of other religion in the state to ensure sustainable peace and unity in the interest of the overall development of the state.

He therefore, expressed gratitude to the state government for not interfering in the CAN election unlike the experiences in the past.
