CONDUCT FREE AND FAIR ELECTIONS. THE ERA OF THE WINNER TAKES ALL IS OVER. GOV. SULE, CHARGES NASIEC

Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer, A A Sule has tasked the Nasarawa State Independent Electoral Commission (NASIEC)to exhibit a high sense of neutrality during the forthcoming Local Government Councils’ Election.

Engineer Sule, gave the charge at the formal presentation of the Nasarawa State Independent Commission’s Regulations for 2021 in Lafia Tuesday.

Describing the document as, “a test case”, Governor Sule charged the State Electoral body, to shun all forms of partisanship and strive towards ensuring a level playing ground to all candidates and the political parties, while ensuring a free, fair and credible Election that would be acceptable by all.

The Governor said, “The era of winners takes all is over”.

He further appealed to political parties operating in the state, to reject all forms of violence during and after the elections, while advising the electorates to elect people of proven integrity that would bring development to their doorsteps.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman of NISIEC, Ayuba Wandai, explained that the regulation is to guide the conduct of the Commission in the conduit of a free and fair Election.

The State NASIEC Chairman disclosed that, the Commission has consulted with Politicians, Security agencies and the media and has also called on other stakeholders in the state to collaborate with the Commission to enable it achieve a huge success in the forthcoming elections.
