AHEAD OF NASARAW STATE LGA ELECTIONS: APC ALREADY SCREENED 80 ASPIRANTS

As Nasarawa State Local Government elections draw nearer, the All Pprogressives Congress (APC) Screening Committee has so far screened about Eighty (80) Aspirants in the  Thirteen (13) Local Governments Areas of the State.

It was reliably gathered that, a total number of about Eighty one (81) Aspirants, purchased Nomination Forms out of which eighty of them have appeared for the screening.

The Chairman of the Screening Committee, Mr. Philip Dada, told our political correspondent in an exclusive interview that, Doma Local Government has nineteen aspirants with a female aspirant, adding that, “out of the number, only ten presented themselves for screening”.

Mr. Dada, who is also the State Commissioner for Works also disclosed that, Keffi and Akwanga Local Government Areas have a total number of eight candidates each for chairmanship position. Adding that, Nasarawa Eggon and Lafia Local Governments have seven aspirants each.

Other Local Government Areas according to the Chairman of the Screening Committee included, Karu, six Aspirants, Keana and Awe have Five (5) aspirants each, while Nasarawa Local Government and Wamba have Four (4) Aspirants in that order.

He said out of the Five (5) aspirants from Toto Local Government, Four showed up for screening, while one person absented himself.

Mr. Dada further announced that, the only Local Government with a consensus chairmanship candidate is Obi.

He said the two females contestants are from Doma and Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Areas of the state.

He praised all those that indicated their interest in aspiring for the various positions in the Councils, showing a high sense of decorum, as he urged them to continue with such spirit of maturity even during and after the election.
