PLATEAU: CAN THE YORUBA COMMUNITY IN PLATEAU STATE GET A NEW KING, WITH THE EXISTING CONTROVERSY?

The Yoruba community in Plateau State also known as, “Egbe Omo Yoruba Parapo” has been in a long time controversy REALITY can authoritatively state.

The controversy it is gathered, surrounds the issue of crowning a new King, after the demise their King, late Samuel Olugbodi (Akea Monarch), who reigned until his death in 2019.

It is of note that the Yoruba community Plateau State has Eight (8) Yoruba speaking state, which Includes, Kogi and illorin and facts have it that, they have been living harmoniously together for a long time, as one body and one people.

The President General in the person of, Alhaji Abdul Hakeem Aka, in an interaction with REALITY, felt it is high time they (Yoruba in Plateau State) get a King for the people to lead their way.

REALITY gathered that it was this intention, which made him (Alhaji Abdul) to consult the elders in Council to help in the quest of choosing a King for the community recently.

According to findings, Alhaji Abdul introduced the ‘Election Method, which is perceived to be Democratic to override the former method which is a ‘Selection Method’.

The controversy is born, REALITY gathered, as his opinion is been kicked against because the elders felt it is not right, and not traditional.

THE QUESTION AND SOLUTION REALITY IS TRYING TO GET, IS HOW THE YORUBA PARAPO IN PLATEAU STATE CAN GET A KING FOR ITS PEOPLE.
