CIVIL SOCIETY LEGISLATIVE ADVOCACY CENTER (CISLAC), TO HOLD ONE DAY CAPACITY BUILDING ON CIVILIAN SAFETY IN ARMED CONFLICT IN JOS

Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Center (CISLAC), with support from Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA) is to hold a one day capacity building session on Civilian Safety in Armed Conflict in Jos, the Plateau State capital.

From information reaching REALITY, the session, which is hoped to hold on Wednesday, the 14^th of July, 2021, at Cryspan Luxury Apartment, off Zaramaganda Rayfield Road Jos, would also cover the Strategies, and approaches for direct prevention of the civilian populace from Violence.

You would recall that, this capacity building is part of CISLAC’s wider project on the Protection of Civilians and Civilians Harm Mitigation in Armed Conflict.

According to the organization, the session would enable States, Armed Forces and other security institutions to better monitor and respond to civilian harm. Adding that, the session would also build participants capacity for true reflect of the impacts of conflict.

“The objective of the capacity building Session is to, develop knowledge and skills to reduce the risk of civilian harm, understanding the risks around civilian protection in conflict, responsible employment of weapons, tracking and assessing civilian casualties, and accountability mechanisms for a range of positions and levels in the communities and within security agencies”. CISLAC has stated.
