HON. SHEHU SALE HASSAN, CONDEMNS THE KILLINGS IN PLATEAU, ADMONISHES JOS-NORTH/BASSA CONSTITUENTS ON PEACE

The Former Member of the Green Chambers of the National Assembly, who represented the good people of Jos-North/Bassa Federal Constituency of Plateau State in the 5th Republic, Hon. Shehu Sale Hassan, who also is the presently Adviser to the Speaker, National Assembly on Sustainable Development Goals has condemned in strong terms the unfortunate incident that occurred in Jos, the Plateau State capital on Saturday, the 14th day of August, 2021, where it was reported that, 26 commuters were confirmed killed.

Hon. Shehu Sale Hassan, who personally attended the burial of those killed, also meet with many others injured in the attack along Rukuba road.

According to a press statement he personally signed, Hon. Shehu Sale Hassän said he is, “Saddened and deeply pained by the ugly incident, which is capable of worsening the volatile security situation in the state and the country at large”.

The Former lawmaker has urged security and non-conventional security agencies to do their very best to apprehend the perpetrators of the dastardly act and bring them to justice to serve as deterrent to others and those with such condemnable plans in future.

He equally called on the people of Jos-North/Bassa Federal Constituency of Plateau State, to continue living in peace and harmony with one another and allow for development to thrive.

The Adviser on Development Goals has further pleaded with rumor peddlers and Youths in the state and the country at large, pasting ugly images or writing inciting statements on social media, which he pointed out have the potential to igniting tension to desist in the interest of peace and development!.

According to the Press Statement, Hon. Shehu in his advice, called on the people of Jos-North and Bassa Local Government to embrace people, as they were known for over the years and to equally stay at home to respect the constituted authority, pending the lifting of the curfew.

Adding that, “the state government under the leadership of His Excellency, Barrister Simon Bako Lalong, is not living any stone unturned at the same time doing everything humanly possible to restore law and order as well as punish offenders.

“He admonished all to bear in mind that, nobody will be spared, if the state and nation is plunged into anarchy, chaos or lawlessness”.

Hon. Shehu Sale Hassän, prayed for the souls of those that are killed eternal lives in the hereafter and equally sympathize with their families. The statement discloses.
