Lack of proper foundation in the educational system in the country has been identified as the brain behind the current banditry, kidnapping that has bedeviled the country today.
The Executive Chairman of Nasarawa State Primary Education Board, Alhaji Muhammad Dan- Azumi, stated this during the opening ceremony of the Spelling Bee Competition, organized by the KRP Foundation for both pupils and higher students at Deeper Life High School, Kwandere Road Lafia
Represented by the Director, Academic Services, Mr. Ibrahim Echi, Alhaji Dan Azumi said it was as a result of lack of proper foundation in education confronting the young generation being faced in the country today..
The Board Chairman, who was full of appreciation to the organizers of the Spelling Bee Competition, noted that, “it would go a long way in improving the participants spelling capabilities”.
The Chairman said even though SUBEB focuses on the provision of infrastructure, instructional materials, the Board would strive towards giving Primary School Teachers, the best training so as to improve their skills .
He encouraged both the pupils and the organizer not to Lose hope as, “this is just the beginning of their educational pursuit”.
It was reliably gathered that, at the end of it all, the state champion is expected to travel to Dubai to compete with other countries in the world sometimes in September this year.
At the end of the contest, Master , Umar Abdullahi Umar of the PTA NADP Nursery and primary School Lafia emerged the champion for junior category while marvelous Udo of the Springfield Oasis College Lafia clinched that of the senior category.
The two champions now stand the chance of traveling to Dubai to compete with other spellers from other parts of the world.
