In its efforts to contribute in bringing an end to the current violent, killing and worrisome situation in Plateau State, Jos JASAWA Youth Forum has held an emergency meeting at JNI Board, with community leaders and security operatives on how to sustain peace in the state:
The meeting had in attendance, security operatives, different Muslim sects, including the Chairman Jos-North Local Government Council (LGC), Islamic Scholars, among other personalities.
In his contribution at the meeting, Gwani Alkali Adam (Islamic Scholar), popularly known as “Dan London”, while appreciating the State Governor, Simon Lalong, for give them a listening ear, urged all and sundry to desist from all forms of violence, while citing a provision from the Holy Quran, which says, “Whosoever kills an innocent soul, shall come on the day of judgment and he will pay the price.”
In an on the spot interview with Journalists, the Chairman of Jos-North LGA, Hon. Shehu Bala Usman, urged all the people of Plateau State, to join hands in maintaining peace in the state.
Bala, who gave example of Shafa Oil Company, which was closed down because of the incident of the person that was allegedly killed there, called on all, to always assist Government with useful information to arrest future conflicts before they happen.
The Chairman in the interview however, promised that, the perpetrators would soon be brought to justice.
He also advised individuals, who go about posting fake information on Social Media platforms to desist, while making it clear that, “the Plateau State Governor, Barr Simon Bako Lalong is working tirelessly to bring an end to the current situation at hand”.
The meeting witnessed contributions from attendees, who gave their advice on how to maintain peace on the Plateau.
The meeting finally ended up with a major resolution, urging everyone to stay calm and maintain peace and order in their areas and the state at large, as attendees were appreciated for coming.
