JUST IN: POVERTY ERADICATION: OVER 350 WIDOWS AND YOUTHS, BENEFIT FROM UNITY FOUNDATION IN JOS-NORTH LGA

A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), UNITY FOUNDATION,  led by Alhaji Abdullahi Yaro Mai Dankali in its efforts to reduce the rate of poverty and idleness for widows and youths in Jos-North Local Government of Plateau State, has given scholarships and job opportunities, through skill acquisition training.

The NGO has advised the beneficiaries to take proper advantage of the opportunity and skills and also transfer same to others in the community.

In his remark during the occasion, Mai Dankali, who spoke for the NGO, urge the beneficiaries to make use of what they have learnt and what they gained in the training to start up businesses, while calling on other well to do in the community and society at large, to also come out in the same gesture to assisting the vulnerable in Jos-North.

According Mai Dankali, “the idleness we see among youths, may be what has led to all the conflict we are experiencing and facing in our various communities”.

In an interview with the coordinator, Miss. Umilkairi, she narrated how far they have gone in assisting widows and vulnerable in different communities. She also urge the beneficiaries to make use of what they got and learnt from the training and also assist others, as much as they can.

 

Highlight of the occasion includes, the issuance of certificate to beneficiaries, rewards by different personalities to the beneficiaries and other participants, like that from, Hon. Shehu Bala Usman, the Chairman of Jos-North LGA, who also urged well to do individuals to also maintain the gesture of sharing from their wealth, while appreciating Mai Dankali for being an Icon of assistance to the vulnerable in Plateau State.
