Following the unfortunate security breach that occurred in some parts of Jos Metropolis which has led the Plateau State Government to impose a 24-hour curfew in Jos North Local Government Area, Management of the University of Jos has approved the suspension of the ongoing Second Semester Examinations for the 2019/2020 Academic Session.

Consequently, all Examinations earlier scheduled between Monday 16^th and Saturday 21st, August, 2021, have been suspended until further notice.

For some time now we have decided to be silent but now we are coming to attack the University as our first attack on Jos this coming Monday and if we come, we will take all students we find hostage.

You would also recall that, it has been reported that Boko Haram sec had also written the University authority that with would come on Monday this week to adopt and kill students of the school.

In the alleged letter of Boko Haram making the rounds, it is reported that they are already in town (Jos, Plateau State)

“We are already in Jos and our intention is to kidnap as many students as possible from their hostels in the University and we will cause grief to many families”. The letter’s statement in English, was alleged captured in the reports

However, the University’s authority in a press release signed by Mr. Abdullahi Abdullahi, the Deputy Registrar, Information and Publications has directed that, “All Students of the University residing in the various hostels are hereby strongly advised to remain within their hostels of residence and avoid unnecessary movements as Management has been working round the clock in close collaboration with the security agencies and the Plateau State Government to ensure that, the lives and properties of members of the University Community especially, Students are adequately protected.

“Students that are resident outside the Campuses are also advised, to remain at home during this period.

“Similarly, Staff of the University are enjoined to remain at home while the 24-hour curfew remains in effect.

“Management wishes to appreciate the Government, Security Agencies as well as members of the public who have shown great concern about the plight of the University during this difficult period.

“Members of the University Community especially Staff and Students are hereby advised to exercise caution and comply with all security directives during this period”.
